In the process, the Shadow Thief swipes the Shining Knight's sword & stabs Firestorm in the chest. Not only does this melt an "indestructible" sword, but, for some reason, it creates a chain reaction that inexplicably causes Firestorm to explode and, seemingly, die. But not before Ronnie flies a safe distance away from everyone. This leads directly into Firestorm, Vol. 3, No. 6. |

Super Powers Collection, No. 16 1986 ($0.) "Firestorm" Significant Events: This story begins with Firestorm and Green Arrow exploring the maneuverability of the Delta Probe 1. After receiving a distress signal Firestorm and Green Arrow soon realize the evil Mantis has transformed the statue of liberty into a salute to Darkseid. A battle ensues with Mantis who has stolen Superman's powers. The ingenious Firestorm transforms the statue of liberty into kryptonite to defeat Mantis, who has also acquired the Man of Steel's weakness along with his powers.
